Frost Smoke

On particularly cold mornings, when the temperature of the air is colder than that of the water, a steamy mist rises and freezes over the Gallatin, creating a dreamlike veil over the river below. This is sometimes referred to as frost smoke, and I really love how these two opposing words so accurately describe the sight. frost1frost2Happy Friday from a very chilly Montana!
