Saturday Campfire

It was a gorgeous, bluebird-sky day here in Montana. I spent the morning in town doing a little Christmas shopping. Small Business Saturday had everyone out in Bozeman. Main Street was lit up and sparkly and full of bargain shoppers. I only made it into two stores before abandoning the crowds and going for coffee.

Every car that I passed on the way home had a giant evergreen strapped to the top, and I loved that it felt like everyone was celebrating the new season.

After a day in town the ranch always feels especially quiet. I found Michael logging in the back. We finally almost have enough wood to get us through the winter. He had burn piles lit, burning the brush and dead branches from the downed trees.

I can’t see a campfire without wanting a smoky hotdog and cold beer, so we headed back to the house and packed up the Yeti with cheddar sausage and Salmon Fly Honey Rye. Nothing tastes better than food cooked outside (and shared with puppies)!
Cheers, Saturday.
